Description

Sertraline Tablets 100 mg – This tablet is made up of the drug Sertraline, a medicine that is commonly used to help treat depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It works by increasing the levels of a chemical in the brain called serotonin, which helps improve mood. It works by boosting the amount of serotonin, which is a chemical in the brain that sends messages. This helps uplift your mood and ease physical signs of depression. It also helps with symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, premenstrual mood disorder, and anxiety.

Uses of Sertraline Tablets

Sertraline contains Sertraline, an antidepressant that inhibits the reabsorption of released serotonin back into the nerve cells. Thus, it increases serotonin activity (a chemical messenger) in the brain that is involved in regulating mood, behavior, and emotions. Thereby, sertraline helps relieve depression, lighten the mood, and relieve anxiety symptoms such as fear and panic.

Precaution to use for Sertraline Tablets

  • If you are allergic to Sertraline or any other medicine, please let your doctor know. Sertraline can only be used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in kids between 6 and 17 years old.
  • It does not treat any other issues in children under 18. Sertraline should generally not be used during pregnancy, especially in the last three months.
  • It can lead to a serious problem in the baby called persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). This makes the baby look blue and breathe quickly. So, please see a doctor if you are pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant.
  • Sertraline may pass into breast milk. Talk to a doctor if you are breastfeeding. Elderly patients should be careful when using sertraline because it can cause low sodium levels in the blood.
  • If you have any thoughts of hurting yourself or wanting to end your life before starting Sertraline, please tell your doctor.
  • If you have diabetes, seizures, bipolar disorder, bleeding issues, glaucoma, severe diarrhea, low levels of sodium or potassium in your blood, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, or serotonin syndrome (which can be very serious), or if you have liver or heart problems, tell your doctor before you take Sertraline.

Directions to use for Sertraline Tablets

Sertraline tablets can also help with premenstrual dysphoric disorder, which causes depression and irritability in women before their period. You can take it with food or on an empty stomach. Your doctor will decide how much medicine you need and how often to take it, so you get the right amount to help with your symptoms. Your doctor might give you a small amount of medicine to start with and then slowly give you more over time. Don’t change how much you take or stop taking it without asking your doctor, even if you feel good. Doing this might make your health worse or you could have bad withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, feeling restless, a racing heart, dizziness, or trouble sleeping.
