Simvastatin Tablets

Simvastatin 20

Description

Simvastatin Tablets

Simvastatin is taken to reduce levels of raised cholesterol in the body. Moreover, Simvastatin is used to reduce heart disease risks such as stroke or heart attack. Elevated levels of cholesterol may result in deposits of cholesterol on artery walls and then lead to an obstruction of the blood flowing into the heart and other body regions that can trigger heart disease, heart attack, or stroke.

Simvastatin extracts ‘Simvastatin’ which acts by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme required for the production of cholesterol in the body. Simvastatin reduces the amount of LDL (bad) cholesterol, and triglycerides and increases the amount of HDL (good) cholesterol. Thus, Simvastatin reduces the elevated levels of fats, triglycerides, and cholesterol, which reduces the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Medical Benefits:-

Simvastatin acts by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme, which is required to form cholesterol in the body. Simvastatin reduces the concentration of LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides but increases the concentration of HDL (good) cholesterol. Thus, Simvastatin reduces the blood concentration of fats and cholesterol and prevents a heart attack or stroke. Simvastatin as an adjunct to dietary therapy is utilized to decrease the risk of experiencing a heart event caused by cardiovascular diseases, the occurrence of non-fatal heart attack or stroke, the requirement for revascularisation procedures (restoration of blood supply to the heart), individuals with diabetes, existing heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease.

Q. I have diabetes; can I use Simvastatin?

Simvastatin may be administered to diabetic patients if recommended by the physician. Your condition would be monitored stringently if you have diabetes. Monitoring of the blood sugar levels regularly is suggested.

Your doctor will also let you know when you can take Simvastatin again.

Q. Does Simvastatin lead to muscle issues?

Simvastatin may lead to muscle issues, especially if taken in large doses. Under rare circumstances, Simvastatin may lead to severe muscle issues like rhabdomyolysis (breakdown of muscle tissue).
